Performance Coaching - 'winning the mental game'

I offer Sports Performance Coaching - winning the mental game through developing a comprehensive mental toolset. My approach is pretty unique in that I combine my psychotherapeutic experience in a sports context to help develop that whole extra muscle (the brain).

I have competed in various sports myself so do have some idea what pressure to perform can feel like - I was the runner up in the British Paragliding Championships in 2002, and winner of the 'serial class' that year. I also competed in the Paragliding World Cup for several events around Europe. I have also competed at national level in dinghy sailing events (Laser II class mainly). More recently I have participated in ultramarathon running races and since my leg amputation in 2024 I have started participating in Stand Up Paddleboard races (most recently in a 40km race in April 2026).

Performance coaching is relevant at all levels of sport; I have worked with some great athletes at all levels and in many different sports. Because of the nature of my work and maintaining client confidentiality I do not post names or reviews. If you would like to find out more about how I can help with your mental game then please get in touch: john@therapygg.com
